Follow in the footsteps of Lord Rama on this culturally and spiritually immersive journey across Sri Lanka. Designed for Indian travelers, this itinerary combines sacred temples, historic landmarks, scenic landscapes, and coastal beauty. From ancient fortresses and holy shrines to waterfalls, tea estates, and serene beaches, each day offers meaningful experiences that connect travelers with the island’s history, culture, and spirituality.

Day 01: Arrival in Colombo / Transfer to Chilaw / Visit Punchi Kataragama & Munneswaram Temple

Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport and meet your KB Leisure representative. Transfer to Chilaw (approx. 2–3 hours). Visit Punchi Kataragama Temple in Madampe, dedicated to Lord Kataragama, followed by the Munneswaram Temple, an ancient Hindu shrine. Evening at leisure to explore Chilaw town or relax at your hotel. Overnight in Chilaw.

Drive to Sigiriya (approx. 4–5 hours), passing through lush countryside. Climb the Sigiriya Rock Fortress, admiring 5th-century frescoes, water gardens, and the summit ruins. Visit the Cobra Hooded Cave nearby, a lesser-known spiritual site tied to local legends. Overnight in Sigiriya.

Travel to Trincomalee (approx. 4–5 hours). Stop at Kinniya Hot Water Wells, a natural geothermal site, then visit Thiru Koneshwaram Temple perched on Swami Rock, offering stunning coastal views. Explore local sights including beaches and small temples in Trincomalee town. Overnight in Trincomalee.

Drive to Kandy (approx. 5–6 hours), stopping en route at Ramboda Waterfall. Visit the Temple of the Tooth to witness evening rituals and pay respects to the sacred relic. Explore the Sri Bhaktha Hanuman Temple, then stop at a tea factory to see traditional Ceylon tea processing. Overnight in Kandy.

Drive to Nuwara Eliya (approx. 3–4 hours). Visit Seetha Amman Temple, Asoka Vatika, and Gayathri Temple, sites associated with the Ramayana legend. Explore Hakgala Botanical Garden, known for its roses and rare plants. Evening at leisure in colonial-style Nuwara Eliya. Overnight in Nuwara Eliya.

Travel to Ella (approx. 2–3 hours). Visit Istripura – Konda Kattu Gala, a cliff connected to Ramayana folklore. Explore Divurumpola Temple and Dowa Temple, ancient shrines with historical and spiritual significance. Evening at leisure to enjoy the highland scenery. Overnight in Ella.

Spend the day exploring Ella’s natural and historic attractions. Trek to Ella Waterfall, visit Ravana Cave associated with the Ramayana epic, and enjoy panoramic views from Ella Gap. Optional short hikes or nature walks in surrounding tea plantations. Overnight in Ella.

Drive to Kataragama (approx. 4–5 hours). Visit Kataragama Temple, a revered multi-religious pilgrimage site. Explore Ussangoda Rock, known for its striking landscape and local legends. Overnight near Kataragama or Galle depending on your preference.

Travel to Colombo (approx. 5–6 hours), stopping en route at Bentota and Galle. Explore Galle Dutch Fort, Rumassala Sanjeewani Drops, and a local turtle hatchery. Enjoy a boat safari on Madu River, observing mangrove ecosystems and local villages. Overnight in Colombo.

Morning city tour of Colombo visiting Panchamuga Anjaneyar Temple, Independence Memorial Hall, Old Parliament, and Galle Face Green. Enjoy last-minute shopping or sightseeing before being transferred to Bandaranaike International Airport for your departure.
